Headed back down to little creek to find the new GP15-1 in new paint, but instead I find the shed locked tight and the 2014 out on the road.

The first encounter was at Tims Road as they pulled a short string of box cars from a local plant.

We beat the train to Burton Station Road, where the train would pull off the the spur and couple back onto the train.

We beat the train to Beekman Road, where the crew would make a water stop at the local quicky mart.

We headed on down to Colman place to catch the train comming through one of the interchanges with NS. A lone box car was spotted here.

We then moved just around the curve as the train pokes its head out onto the former Virginian main with the old tower in the background.

Here he stopped for a good 5-7 minutes, then continued to portlock yard.

A few of the cars in the consist.

On another note, in the yard at Newport News is a CSX SD50-2, a SD50, a FURX SD40-2 and a HLMX SD40-2. also the 700 arrived on local and was being tied down as we came over the bridge overlooking the yard.

She will be in Bay Coast paint soon. THe line has been under Bay Coast operation since November of last year, and this engine is the only one kept on my end of the line. People keep complaining to me about it not being the ESHR but until the sign at the yard off or the locomotive is in BCR paint, its still the ESHR :)

Do you think that Webster would agree that the little red flag fits the 'device' defintion?

I guess I never considered that even a simple flag would fill the 'marker' in the 'train' definition.

Yep it fills the term. As long as there is some sort of marker weather it be EOT, Flag, ect, its considered the end of train marker.

Cool Pics! And that goes for the other set too.
I've grown kind of partial to shortline ops.

I love shortlines and indutrial lines. Odd power, neat schemes and rolling stock... gotta love it!
