Just got back from Little Creek where I learned the Bay Coast GP15-1 #400 is now in full BCR paint and will be moved to Cape Charles Via Car Float Monday morning at 0600. 2014 was workin the yard as we arrived, and had already got the float emptied and the train arranged.

On the road with little sun, we get a few shots of the train working out of town through a small S curve

Back in Newport News HLCX 6205 sits ready for a crew along with a few EMD/GE's in the engine facility. Also in the yard is a HIgh and Wide Genorator load.

Good catch on the generator load, I'd love to find something like that sitting where I could take some pics of it.

You'd think they'd want to strap down the load on the ESHR flatcar, with some duct tape or something, but I guess if they want to ride like that...

Actually they droped that car, along with the others lettered ESHR. Those are used as spacers or "Idler Cars" that are used to pull the cars off the float. Useing these prevents the chance of of the engine causeing the float to tilt or flip as the locomotive shoves for the couple. Those cars rarely if ever leave the yard at Little Creek. Had the crew not had to make a run that day, i would have requested them to make a ESHR consist and run down to the old PRR station sight at Burton Station Road. Crews on the Shore are very friendly and will pretty much do what ever is needed to please the photographer. Not to mention by doing this the shots could be used for a tribute to the ESHR, as the Bay Coast will have the 400 in use this week. In cape Charles is a string of BCR painted coachs and box cars, that I was told would be used for a publisity train once the 400 is on the property. The shots of the ESHR train, if it had or does get ran, could be used as a then and now scene to grab peoples attention about the new ownership.
