Colleagues,

Surfing on Google Video for a while I found three very interesting railroad documentaries:

The first is an old 1930s advertisment film made by General Electric, highlighting the crossing of the Cascades by the Great Northern Ry - and , of course, GE locomotives. (3 min)

Then I found a lovely 1950s railroad documentary, or also PR film. It showcases all the good deeds the railroad does for America - and it was produced by the "Association of American Railroads". It is a film from the time when things were still going quite well for railroads, and it has lots of interesting historical scenes of many different rail lines. (19 min)

Finally, I stumbeled upon a documentary of the construction of the Great Northern stone arch bridge in Minneapolis, which is also a nicely done and quite interesting piece of railroading history. (28 mins)

If you also have historical RR videos, why not post them here as well?

Thanks and enjoy!

There are some very interesting films in the Prelinger archives. Unfortuantely, I can't seem to get their search feature or browse to work anymore.

If it soes not work for you, you could try using Google "Search Current Site".

I especially liked Southern Pacific's "This Is My Railroad"
