Last Train To Lenoir

These photographs were shot this past Friday, August 31st. The CWCY (caldwell county railroad) ran the last train to Lenoir, NC. The last 5 miles of the route were being shut down because Google is building a server farm near the mainline, the original claim was that the vibrations of the train were too much for the computers, I do not see how that is possible, the train has a 10mph speed limit and runs once or twice a week... Other rumors have been flying about the purpose of this, only time will tell.


Generally I am the only person ever photographing or chasing the CWCY, but on this day there were at times as many as 10 or more people!

For Google, my response would be the same as the idiots that build homes within one block of the airport: DON'T BUILD THERE!

I can see why it's 10 MPH - those rails look pretty wiggly.
