I believe that box contains the cab signal equipment.

Hi All,
I am working on a repaint of a KLW NS GP40-2. This model is one of the best looking and easiest to repaint of the GP40's I have found. My problem is a small box on the shorthood engineers side. I have played with the ace file and alpha, but the box remains. Has anyone else had played with this model?? And am I missing something?
Thanks for any help,
Randy
P.S. Is there any other GP38/GP40's out there besides the Justin Cornell model?????

Some GP40's don't have them, and some do. Their is currently no good model available without the box.

To my knowledge, the box is the cab signal equipment. It was put on be either PC, NYC, or CR units if I remember correctly.

I thought it was the cab heating system x(
Sorry if it seems alittle late, but that is an ATC box for use on the NEC.-Jeffrey
