Hey Pete -

Here are a couple of skunks for you...

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w111/tpeard/skunklogo.jpg

http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w111/tpeard/skunklogobw.jpg

I used them on a couple of my early repaints somewhere around the same time I contacted you way back when...

I have some old brochures with different logos on it somewhere... I'm in the middle of a move so finding it may be the difficult part.

If there is anything else I can do to help - please feel free to contact me.

If Pete still has the RS-12 in the plans, then the B/W copy would be the applicable logo.

Hopefully I can find those brochures... because I know that M-100 had a newer Skunk Train logo... M-300 had the one that is similar to the coaches and locomotives... but they might have repainted that one again - I haven't seen it in a few years.

I did some digging online... you may have already come across these:

Here are a couple of the modern logos -

M100's new logo - I don't think any other equipment got this logo on it:

And GP9 #66 has a skunk with overalls on where the CALIFORNIA WESTERN title is vs. the conductor's uniform - Whereas GP9E #64 and #65 has the skunk with the conductors uniform on.

RS11's #61, #62 and #63 didn't have any logo between the text.

The newer paint scheme for #45 has the skunk with the conductors uniform.

The older paint scheme for #45 has the B/W skunk.

#45 even wore a smiley face for a short period of time... I'll have to find that picture.

I simply found these online on Yahoo under image search for 'Skunk Train'... I didn't try 'California Western' yet... but I'm out of time for now.

That top pic a logo.. I dont knwo what you call it... but it isnt their logo lol... I live in the town that this train runs.. therefor I can go to see the actual cars anytime I please, my family knows one of the engineers and I am still waiting to tlak to him... I have posted some of my own pics on train-sim.com

skunktrn.zip
sknktrn2.zip

I personally took all those pictures and am currently waiting for the skunk to start running again which it will on friday.. it has been closed down for the winter.. so I will probably soon be posting some pictures of superheated 2-8-2 baldwin mikado... I know all about this areas past, I have studyed it... I know this train well.. I have lived here my whole life... I want to get recordings of the whistle and horns as well.. which I hope to do soon..

Though I don't live in Fort Bragg, I have visited family and friends there countless of times. I have a handful of friends who have since retired from the CalWestern or passed on. The Skunk was always a favorite of mine... I miss the freight trains... and I really hate to see it in the condition that it is in today... nothing like it use to be.

That top logo you mentioned not being a CWR logo is featured on M100... and possibly a similiar design was on the RS12 #55 and #56 early on before their striped paint scheme like that of #'s 61-66.

I don't think M300 had the logo on it, but it did feature 'The Redwood Route' in stenciling above the windows. A caboose also had that circular logo on it.

Here are a couple more logos. Apparently, the Skunk in overalls did go on some of the coaches.

Before the Baldwin RS-12 got its stipes it did have a logo on it.. but it wasnt that one.. here his a pic of it.. they also had 3 other steam engines that I could find a picture of (also a mallet that I couldnt post because of its size.. however, if you are interested -mail me :) artanisred@hotmail.com) and they had a green paint schem (which I am sure you also saw on the old skunk photos) on a few of there diesels... I miss the freight days as well.. I have heard rumors that they want to start a frieght service again... but i dont know how that will go, and I read that they also want to start the mail service again :) AND they want to start a auto ferry where you jsut drive your cars up on the train and ride to willits... and I also heard that their steam special might be pulled by a double headed steam engine.. which must mean the still have #44 or #46 as in the pics below... or maybe not.. I am not to sure..
