Allow me to be the first.
Here a snap of two recent city blocks (turned and repeated)created in SketchUp. I erred when I saved the screen shot as a .gif file instead of a .jpg. I thought it looked something like a postcard… so here it is.
Have a sparkling day,
Bob

Nice buildings, Bob. Any plans on uploading? :)

What? No derelicts asking for money? Oh, right, this is 1950.

Looks great indeed Bob! And do these have night textures?
I can give them a good home if they're uploaded as well. ;)

I'm thoroughly impressed! -Phil (not a Hartford native, but living in the area for some time...)

Thanx for the kudos fellow’s.
These are part of my New Haven - Springfield (work in progress) Route. Several (read dozens) more city blocks are in the plan. Which will be used throughout the route in various cities/large towns, and in various configurations. That’s the plan anyway.
As for night textures…., a little further down the priority list.
Uploading…., I’ll need to make some ‘texture use’ arrangements first.
Derelicts? (LOL)…., they’ll probably show up after I install the “Greyhound/Trail-ways” sign on the Union Place Station building (at the bottom of Allyn Street).
Thanx again…, have a sparkling day.

Very nice. The one city on my route could really use 10 blocks of these great looking structures.

Constitution Plaza would look nice. Lived in the Hartford area my whole life!

Visually speaking… as much as I’d like to see the ‘boat’ in the sim, I think it’s just out of sight from the mainline. Maybe visible from across the river, but that would probably be an expansion pack at a later date. However, the Travelers , will definitely be visible by virtue of it’s height. As will the north end of Main street (read Fox’s) regarding it‘s proximity to the mainline.
I’m just now starting up the hill from Union Place…, not to mention Springfield, New Haven and a half dozen towns in between. Phew…, I’ve got a lot of urban space to create!!
Have a sparkling day, thanx for the interest.

Bob,
On a historical note, the Constitution Plaza complex was not even in existence in the 1950's. IIRC, it was opened sometime in the early 60s.

I thought about that Rick. I couldn't remember if it was built when I lived in Windsor Locks (mid/late 50's) or Middletown (early/mid 60's). I was leaning toward the 60's.
Have a great day,
Bob

Early 60's sounds about right!
