Ernie, there's a refinery in the file library that might have something similar to what you are looking for. Don't have the specific name, but do a search for refinery and LHW (Long Haired Wizard)

Just found it "refpakv1.zip" and the fix right above it. Do a search for refinery and it's the bottom two listings.

Ive searched through its files and theres no tank car loading rack. I need a tank car rack also and thought the refinery might have had one also, but it didnt.

If you guys have, or download, either the Dragon Bay Route, by Phil Skene, or, Newark and Jersey City, by Teemu Saukkonen. They both have tank car loading objects. the two on the NJC are the better ones, in my opinion, due to them being aligned with the track, instead of crossing it, like the other set on DB route does.

Didn't know if you missed it, or it was not what you had in mind, but thought I'd double check anyway since I know how frustrating it is to look for something. This is in shape viewer, so direction is incorrect, but the idea is there

That's the same one I found on the Dragon Bay route.

It isn't sideways like that because it's in Shape View, its sideways like that because it was built that way. I think, but aren't sure, that TSM uses the standard listing for the axes, but MSTS has them labeled differently. So in the beginning of things, I think several people built things to the MSTS way, not realizing that the TSM, and GMax, and probably 3DMax, for that matter, are a little different.

On the simpler shapes, I'll rebuild them, but not anything as complicated as that.

Also, was that inside the RefPak1.zip? I looked inside my copy of that zip, and didn't see anything.

I think that's the pack it came from or the update to it. The file name in the shapes folder is "refloading.s".

No need to worry about its orientation, just rotate it like you would any other object. You will have to space the tracks out slightly, but that's easily done when you first put it in.

Rotating it is the easiest way. But for me personally, I run out of patience trying to get things parallel to the tracks. If I can, I'll just edit the World file, and copy the Qdirection values from the track piece to the object.

I built a lineside warehouse in Gmax, that the orientation corresponds to where the track piece orientation, so I can copy over the direction, X, and Z values.

Things like that help me out, but i'm not sure if everyone else could manage, considering some of the people running around here, asking for help on everything that takes any thought.

For some reason I seem to remember that Rich Garber might have included something silimar in Ohio Rail. Don't know if he was the original creator of the object, though. I know that I gave him permission to include some of the objects I'd created, so someone else mught have contributed the loading platforms, if they are indeed there.

This was long before Rich began creating his own object masterpieces.

The creator of the above pictured object is Bill Bzak (aka LongHairedWizard -LHW - if I'm not mistaken). It was part of the refinery pack put together earlier.

I velieve he's also the one that has done quite a few steel/refinery objects for Rich's various commercial routes, but could be mistaken on that. At any rate, he definitely does some fantastic work.

{EDIT} Just found his website if anyone is interested. http://www.lhwfoundries.com/
