I've been using Lightwave for years, and a little while back I deciding to take a crack at some MSTS object creation (as if I need another way for MSTS to distract me). I figured out that I could use Lightwave for modeling, and export to G-Max for texturing and .s file output (the guys at Autodesk probably love that).
I had just started working on this tower as my first MSTS modeling project, when all kinds of stuff came up that has prevented me from playing around with MSTS very much. The tower is loosely based on a style of tower that was relatively common on the CNW. It's still very much a WIP, and I hope to be able to get back to it soon, but in the meantime I figured I'd post a couple of quick renders.

Any release plans? I know I could use it on one of my routes!

Like I said, it's kind of on-hold at the moment, so it's hard to put any sort of a date on it. If things settle down and get back to normal soon, I would say about a month (giving myself some padding you know) but don't hold me to it. ;)

Also, I'll have to do some experimenting with details/polygon counts. Since it will be close to the tracks, I want it to look good, but still not be excessively burdensome on resources. My plan is to build the model with all the necessary detail, then make renderings of the seperate pieces for mapping onto a lower polygon version of the model. This will be done on the walls, for the most part, where I believe much of the detail can be reasonably portrayed with texture maps, rather than extra polygons.

A small update.
Had a little time today. Added window/ door detail and a chimney.
