A concrete coaling tower, three shops buildings, two engine sheds, and more: it will all be uploaded soon. Have a first look here:

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/up1/115100.jpg
(from upper left corner to lower right:)
- Shelby Engine Shed (prototypical)
- three main buildings of the former G.N. Great Falls shops (one drive-in), "proto-lanced"
- Great Falls Engine Shed (prototypical)
- Choteau County Courthouse
- Great Falls Coaling Tower ("proto-lanced")
- Anaconda Copper Smelter 600ft smoke stack
- Big Sandy High School (prototypical)

Most of the buildings are designed to be placed near the tracks, thus have a slightly higher polycount (around 1000). The GF engine shed is quite poly-heavy (3000 or so), it should only be used as a single object.

They should be in the file library soon. Do you have any comments, ideas, tips, criticsim? Please tell me now, so I can maybe further tweak the buildings.

Thanks!
Michael

Have a Super Sunday,

Michael, those are great looking strucktures. :) I can find a nice home for most of them. But I have a question. Could you take, as a starting point with the one shop on the right, second one down, and kinda transform it into this?:

Great looking structures, Michael! :)

What modeling program are you using? I have a GN roundhouse that I never finished that you're welcome to. The exterior is done, including being textured, just that I never bothered to add an interior nor export it to MSTS.

Cheers!

Thanks everybody! The buildings have just been uploaded, look for gn_bld_1.zip in the file library any time soon... :-)

Marc, thanks a lot for your offer! I am afraid I will not be able to further model the roundhouse (which one is it, by the way?) as I only able to (barely) use Google SketchUp. Things like buildings' interiors (or any smaller details) are horribly difficult with this program, I find it always very hard to model any exact things in small dimensions. You probably model in other programs, don't you? However, could I maybe ask you to upload it anyway, though? If the exterior is already finished I am sure it is a killer model! And we can never have enough GN stuff around here, at least I cannot. :-) Would also be geat to have a different roundhouse than the (really good!) XTracks one which gets used on about every route.

Thanks!
Michael

As soon as I can locate the model, I'll dig it out and export and send it to you. Drop me an email or PM over at 3DTrains with contact info. :)

Cheers!
