I installed the Atlanta-Macon Route yesterday and like it a lot.
For some reason the route was missing USA2fir.s (I think is what it said.). Route-Riter found the error and stole one from the Bodiddley route and it worked fine after that.
I installed atlpath.zip, and that seemed to work fine. (Maybe, see below).
However, the route came with three default activities: Coal Pickup.act, Macon local.act, and Macon Run.act.
None of these work. I suspect they may have carried over from the initial build of the route. I can figure out the names of the consists that are missing, but since the consists are not supplied, I have no idea what to substitute for them.
I also downloaded ns_paths.zip. This was supposed to have three activities: Southbound, Southbound_1, and Northbound. Southbound and Northbound had an engine in the included consist that I didn’t have, so I just modified the consists to use a different one. However, both activities gave me send/don’t send errors, and when I opened them in activity editor, they said the paths were invalid, even though the southbound one looked correct. I couldn’t recreate the southbound path, though.
I also downloaded piggybac.zip and have higher hopes for it, although I didn’t get around to installing it’s rolling stock yet.
Finally, when I start the route at “Atlanta” heading toward “Macon”, after approximately Mile Marker 410, I pass Powers Pole Co. and then I get switched down the “East Point Industrial Complex Abandoned Sidings” where I crash. If I realized this in time and back up and throw the switch manually, I can run the rest of the route to the end.
I would like to set this switch to be set left instead of straight, but don’t know if I do this in the route editor, or if I set up a dummy activity and define the path there, or what. And I am lucky to find the tracks in the RE, much less the correct switch at MP 410 to change.
This would also help me with some switches on Bodiddley where I tend to run down a siding on explore routes.
Note: I think “Atlanta” and “Macon” were initial points in the route and not added by atlpath, because they and “suburbs” were the only things in initial caps and all the other start points were in all caps. However, I tried starting from Conner Chemical to End, b/c Conner Chemical was before this (but this path would have been going northbound, although starting from Alanta, I was able to pass Conner Chemical going north and keep going till the end of the world.
(I have since learned that I don't think you can set switch positions in an Explore route, so I might be out of luck here.)
