Hey Fellows:

Has anyone downloaded and tried the new Schwebebahn route????

There is something in the route that causes the installation of it in the segment of Train Simulator (I have separate installs for each type of route)to fail loading completely and the Error/Snd/Don't Send message to appear and c lose the entire program out.

Removing the Schwebebahn folder from the ROUTES returns the rest of the program to loading other routes in it with no problem. There is something in that route that is corrupt.

I looked in the folder and found the DETAILS ace and LOAD ace files/tga files are incomplete graphics that are squiggly/static lines instead of a picture. Trying to correct this still causes the route to fail.

Anyone have any other ideas????? I have also checked I have X-tracks 3.18 as required, and Tsection.dat Build #37......the author says #38, but this doesn't exist???

Thanks for the help

Doug

Doug,

I had the same problem and I thing there is a mistake in the readme.txt. The folder "Global" provided by the installation includes a subfolder "Tsection update...". There is a tsection.dat that is probably modified by the author. So, save your original tsection.dat, copy the provided one to the MSTS/Global folder (overwriting the old one) and launch the route.

If you still have trouble just download the same file from www.the-train.de, [sitch to English], Download area, most recent files.
Oldiedaddy recompacted the route so it's only 7megs.

I like the route very much as it resembles the original to a certain degree (I live near that route and had a good number of rides. In rush ours there is a train every 3 minutes.)

Regards,
Horst

Horst:

Thank you for your assistance with the Schwebebahn route.

I started from scratch by taking your advice to download Oldiedaddy's
version from www.the-train.de site. This is an RAR file, whereas the US version is an EXE installer.

The RAR file comes out better, though the install-me-bat still fails to copy a number of files. I particularly had trouble with the TERRTEX and ENV folders. Also, the RAR file seems to be missing a "LOAD" ace file. I substituted an MSTS one until I can make something more appropriate.

The RAR file does have the modified GLOBAL folder with the new tsection.dat file, whereas the EXE program does not produce it, as well as a number of files I found that were corrupt incomplete graphics (LOAD, DETAILS and SCHWEBEBAHN.ace).

Filling in the missing files when I extracted the RAR version now has the route up and running satisfactorily.

Thanks for your assistance.

Doug

PS: Oh yeah....been there "hung around" & done that too !!!

Yes I tried.
First, TS would not go past loading the routes folder anymore. I tried running again the installme.bat and even the setup.exe, but to no avail
I deleted that specific route.
TS would then load normally (except that, quite strangely, the TS/Kuju video did not play anymore ?), until a route or activity was loaded : as soon as the cab driver's view appeared, the simulator froze, for any route or activity.
I'm now reinstalling TS files ...
