Colleagues,

I am currently working on a simualtion of the Hook & Eye line (eye portion) and my question is this. Should I wait to install Bin1.6 after I finish the route, or is it okay to install in the middle of a construction like this.

Some of you know me through my efforts with the Milwaukee Road subdivisions in Montana (more of those to come), and I do plan to add X-tracks, New Roads, and probably M-Track before starting another new route, but wonder if installing Bin in the middle of construction is a no-no like it is with X-tracks.

Hello Jerry,
As you probably are already know, back up your route just in case. I did install MSTSbin 1.6.1 while working on my present route and had zero problems. The one thing I did read here in the forums, make a backup of train.exe before installing MSTSbin 1.6.1. Jim discovered there is a bug in the uninstall program that does not restore train.exe, just in case you need to go back to MSTS 1.2

Thanks Rich for the quick reply. Just for good measure, I will probably backup all of the files in the MSTS root. CDs and even
DVDs are too cheap to not do it. I picked up a pkage of 100 Imation DVDs at Office Depot for $25. Usual price is $75 or so.

Hi Jerry,
I installed it with no ill effects to my route. It's well worth the trouble. Back-up tho, always a good thing to back up.

Cheers,

Patrick
