When you press F5 three times, you are presented with a full page of heads-up information. What does the following line represent:
Meter: xxx m yyy s
TIA.

That appears to be the clock's reading on loco's consoles, but does not show minutes as well as seconds, only the latter increasing with time.
Shall mention that to George ! ;-)

Otto,
When running Rich Garber's Cumberland route with the Bin 1.6.1 mod, I notice both sets of number change on the 'Meter:' line. The value for 's' portion matches the clock, but it only counts seconds, not minutes. The value for the 'm' portion does not change until the engine starts to move, and then seems to be affected by the speed of the engine, i.e. increases faster as the engines picks up speed.
Could the 'm' values indicate distance traveled and the 's' time (in seconds)?

The xxx m is how far you have traveled, in meters, since starting an activity/explore mode, or since resetting the counter (Ctrl+Numpad 6). I use this as a length counter for my trains. You can get the length of your train, in meters, from Conbuilder. When you pass a resume/increase speed sign, or are leaving a siding you can hit Ctrl+Numpad 6 and this counter will reset. When it gets to the length of your train (from ConBuilder) your tail end will be clear of the restriction/siding and you can increase your speed to the posted figure.
The yyy s figure is simply a time display, in seconds, since you started the activity/explore mode, or reset using Ctrl+Numpad 6. There is nothing wrong with it, as Otto suggests, unless he wants George to put in minutes as well.

Dan,
Thanks for the details. Being able to determine distance travelled will be a big help in developing detailed track records showing crossings, bridges, etc.
I think the confusion came from the fact the 's' was seconds and it might be assumed the 'm' was for minutes.
BTW, is there an explination of all the values for the new heads-up display?

Thanks from me too, Dan !
Useful to know that there is a "Distance Traveled" counter too, I always wanted to see on locos consoles, like a trip meter in cars !
George said that this is part of the MSTS source code, difficult to find and change and at the moment not important enough for him to bother with, perhaps later ?
Reading the "Metres" divide by 1609 to get miles and "Seconds" by 60 to get minutes or 3600 to get hours ! ;-)

Finally a functioning distance counter!!! Now if there were some way to have it readout on the headend telemetry would be cool even if it has to be in meters.

Yes Bill, got in on my MSTSBin wish list.
Would be great to have a resettable distance traveled meter displayed in locos driver consoles ! ;-)

That's what I'm talking about. This readout is normally on the headend telemetry device and on one of the screens on the newer computer screened locomotives that have the telemetry built into the computer as opposed to a seperate unit. It would be cool to be able to add this meter to specific user desired locations on various cabs. Now if there was some way to have this display in feet.

Since this is a Heads Up topic, what does the Couplings line signify? The number of characters seems to be dependant on the length of the train, to a point, but they fluctuate, between 0 and 1
Thanks

James I'm not a 100% sure but I think this line designates if the cars are coupled or not. Perhaps another can add.
