Well, Christmas is getting very close...
Dear Santa,
While you are working on all those other complications within the train.exe file, could you please do something with the AE putting the list of engines in an alphabetical order the same way it does for the list of cars/wagons? It is getting very difficult to find any engine without having to search through the hundreds on my list. Just trying to build an activity is making me loco...
Your friend,
Bob

You can use the "advanced" functions of Train Store to create a "scenario" containing only the equipment you choose ( Train Store has them in alphabetical order ). Then, when you run the scenario, everything else is stored, and you have an easier time of choosing. This is the method I recommend to those at our VR so that they only use "approved" equipment. It will work for you to choose the equipment you may want to use in an activity.

Another method with Train-Store along with what Joe has written above is to use Lot Numbers. I have 5 different sets of rolling stock with C&NW, ADFRR, Default, NERR, Misc and it's a very simple matter of click edit the list you want, call up the group by name, click OK and that's it.
To assign Lot Numbers (or names as in my case), click Maintenance Tab, edit the list you want, right click to select as many as you wish, change the name/number and that's it.
Both single methods have their forte, but I've found the quickest and most efficient is to use a combination of the two to keep down the total number of consists, which can give MSTS fits in some cases.
Train-Store is a power house if a person will spend a few minutes digging around in it.

Hi Bob !
I was not aware of this, always using the ConBuilder to create consists for use by activities and not the AE's Service Editor's NEW Consist option !
Should not be a problem for George, once he has taken care of more important MSTS matters ! ;-)

Does anyone know what is being worked on? In fact, is anything ne to be expected at all? There's not a lot of info.

Otto posted on another thread in this forum what Bin George is doing in the next update. It mainly has to do with bugs and even better computer resource management.
