New patch 1.6.122008

New version 1.6.122008 tells me to tell Bill. I uninstalled the previous version and copied over the new dll's. ?? I had no problems with any of the previous versions.

I'm getting the same call Bill(send/don't send) with the latest MSTSbin.I first un-installed the last version which worked perfect and installed this new release and now get the dreaded send/don't send.

I suspect that the wrong version dll files have been included with this new patch. If you put the original MS versions in with the patch you get the same result.

Same thing is happening to all of us over the pond in England - Tell Bill message before getting to the MSTS loading screen.

A fix is being worked on. Seems to be a problem similar to the one that occurred with the last release. New patch isn't compatible with all operating systems.

There seems to be a lot of this here and in the UK-TS MSTSBin forums.

Here once more is what must be done before installing any MSTSBin Patch !!!

INSTALLING MSTSBin

If no previous version of any MSTSBin 1.6 has been installed then the Version 1.2 (1.4) Train Simulator update from the MS-TS download web site must be present in the Train Simulator folder, it's train.exe file having a December 2001 date.

If a previous version of MSTSBin 1.6 has been installed then it must be un-installed first, using it's Uninst_MSTS Patch*.exe in the Train Simulator folder, which will restore the previous version of MSTS and it's DECEMBER 2001 Train.exe, remove the MSTSBIN_BACKUP folder and the Uninst*.* files !!!

Then run the MSTSBin Patch 1.6.122319.exe - English and select other options like Transparent if required and install done, COPY/PASTE the Translated DLLs \ EN folder *.dll files into the Train Simulator folder !

RUN MSTS and all will work as it should as it does on this, my son's computer, MSTS being on an external USB-2 drive I brought with me from the U.K., MSTSBin 1.6.1223 allocating 139 Mb out of 550 Mb available RAM for MSTS !

P.S.: Those who have already messed up their MSTSBin need to do this:

In the Train Simulator folder DELETE the MSTSBIN_BACKUP & Translated DLLs folders and the Uninst_MSTS Patch*.* files.

Then replace the Train.exe with the December 2001 version, which can be downloaded from the MSTS web site Version 1.2 (1.4) update and then install MSTSBin 1.6.122319 as outlined above !

Okay got the new version working on mine now.I redownloaded the patch and also the same for the MSTS V1.2 trainexe.from the MSTSbin site.Unzipped and ran the Trainexe then reinstalled the new ptach....works fine now.Also Otto when one runs the auto uninstaller for MSTSbin it seems to automatically remove the folders you mention.

Otto, did all of that with 1.6.122008, got the infamous message for Uncle Billy. Put the older version back and MSTS is happy. Off to try the 1.6.122319 now, and see if that works.

Yes, it does, Dale, but some guys somehow messed up the un-install which left the MSTSBIN_BACKUP folder behind, preventing another MSTSBin 1.6 install, as will also happen if there is no December 2001 V.1.2/1.4 train.exe in the Train Simulator folder.

Yes, the 1.6.122319 patch works, Mervyn, installed on my external USB-2 drive I took with me to the States, visiting my son !
