I installed the new Bin and immediately liked the fact that it informed me how much RAM was being set aside for MSTS to utilize. I loaded up an activity on the Tehachapi II with the new 3DTrains improved textures. It has a long freight coming into the yard at the same time the player train starts down through the yard. My Frames dropped to 8 using a brand new ATI 1600 pro video card with 512mb of memory. As the long train went past and began to pull away the frame rate increased with each 10 seconds of time. It goes to show that long AI's and standing yard consists still take up a lot of memory. My frame rate when I first started the activity was over 50.

I used the right arrow key to look out the window of my player train to take a look at the passing freight, when I tried to return back to the front view using the number 1 key, I got a screen that came up with the word "Alert" that temporarily stopped the activity. I then hit the number 2 key and the alert screen went away and then I could go back to the number 1 view.

Has anyone else had this happen?

Hello Bob,
Yes, this is not a problem, actually it's a enhancement :) When you are in the number 1 cabview you will need to use the arrow keys to look around. You can now change to different engines in your train (as long as they have a cabview and are not AI engines) buy using the F9 consist key and the number 1 cabview key. The train has to be stopped with the throttle in idle and the reverser centered. Using the mouse click on a different engine in the F9 consist window, then press the number 1 key and presto you are in the new engine. It's just another enhancement thanks to George and all his hard work on the MSTSbin patch.

Take care,
