Ok, we KNOW that they're using the FSX engine in MSTS-X. Could they use the modeled world in FSX and import it into MSTS-X? The scenery textures and building textures would be low resolution. Could a person select a specific area and have the textures re-generated into high resolution? Buildings could be generated, but they wouldn't have to be very high in resolution, as the user could replace them at will. This would be literally unreal. Routes anywhere, and realistic!
