If you read the article below you will find that Microsoft was not totally satisfied with the way FSX came out. Microsoft is now working on FSXI as a total rewrite. This could very well mean that FSXI will run on Vista only. Since MSTS-X is based upon the engine of FSX, what do you think? Train Sims are of course different from Flight Sims, so I have to wonder if the shortcomings of FSX will stay in the shadows so to speak with MSTS-X?

Major Edit: Forget what I just wrote. Evidently I was one of those people that fell for this article that turned out to be fake. This article was posted on Flightsim.

Hi Edward !

Whether this article was a fake or not and having purchased MSFS-X Pro will not touch it again until there is a stable DirectX-10 version of it, using a stable VISTA and all are using Dual Processors to the full.

The same goes for MSTS-X.

Hope that I live long enough to see it all happen ! :-(

Then I shall buy a new computer to put is all together and not before ! In the meantime MSTSBin frame rates in the upper 50s will do me fine ! ;-)

Hi Otto,
I have been quite pleased with FSX after installing the patch. I have an AMD dual core processor, and my frame rates jumped up significantly, enough that I no longer experience any visual impairment, and I was able to go up a few steps in density and quality as well.

Bob,

This response is coming from someone who had problems just installing FSX –

I’ve had no problems with FSX and SP1 either.

Ignore that, Bob !

That was on an earlier computer and I was not the only one who could not install it and then not run it for more than a short time.

Below is similar to what I got, the MSFS-X installer announcing that it could not complete the installation, aborting the install ! :-(

I can wait until MSFS-X for DirectX-10 ! ;-)

Hi guys,

I purchased FS X two days ago and the installation is really driving me mad. I keep getting error 1935 and I have tried to:

a) Install it on my desktop Windows XP
b) Re-installed XP on my desktop
c) Format everything, install Vista RC1
d) Tried installation under Vista but under a different partition
e) Tried installing FS X on my notebook running Windows XP Media Center Edition
f) Installation under Vista safemode was not possible, installer would
not run

All the time I am getting the famous error 1935 and FS X will roll back the installation shortly after the error message. I have NO spyware, antivirus or something similiar installed. I tried ripping the .iso files from the DVD and run it virtual, but it makes no difference.

I'm really frustrated, this has not happened to me ever before. Can
anyone please help me?

Thanks a bunch!

“That was on an earlier computer and I was not the only one who could not install it and then not run it for more than a short time.”

I don’t remember the AVSIM.com and Flightsim.com forums getting flooded with claims of FSX installation problems?
