As it seems turnouts are "automagically" generated in both upcoming new sims... what about track crossings, aka Diamonds?

Are those going to automatically appear also, laying two pieces of track across each other? Any angle? With guard rails? What about single and double-slips? What would be the elevational tolerance?

(Of course, here, I'm also assuming you can lay new track that isn't in the worldwide database, too.)

Yes, you can defintatley lay your own tracks. So is Microsoft using a spline system like Auran? Switches were formed automatically in TRS too, but there were no switchblades.

If the press video is anything to go by then yes, track is spline based but turnouts do have animated blades along with other parts.

Yes and yes.

WOW! are you serious? In MSTS2 if I place two track sections at any angle the sim will automatically create a switch along with points, frog and guide rails or if I cross two sections of track at any angle the new sim will automatically create a diamond? And both of these new track sections will work with the signaling system? Are the days of being limited to what is available in the Tsection.dat finally over?

Take care,
Rich S.

You should have control over the behavior, though there will be a default effect. The tools should also automatically create blocks to which you could add signals. The tools might place signals automatically in some cases but we're still designing them so I can't say for sure.
