View Full Version : Rocking Motion

A simple question for the creators. Will the trains rock and roll like the real things? I think that was a major flaw for MSTS and it should be incorporated. Especially downgraded industrial trackage that will cause an even more violent rocking if you go faster than 6mph in some places, and the option to lay as much crappy track as you wish. Also to differentiate between the two. Even trains on awesome track still rock and move in awkward ways and if you ever run a train at 60mph on the mainline right next to a piggyback doing 70, you'll notice the trailers bouncing and hunting and it can be scary sometimes. Hopefully this was not an oversight in this version, because couple that with the graphics, I am sold.

I can't remember where I read that, but yes, I think that will be a feature of the sim.

They apparently had that working all the way back in August, since he mentions the "hunting and rocking of each car..."

:D That just made my night for sure. I am wondering if this will also be simulated in the cab as well. I understand it might be annoying to some folks trying to use the mouse control, but I am really hoping since the keyboard works just as well.

That would be interesting; a sort of "lag" between the acceleration of the airplane and the pilot's head is implemented in the virtual cockpit of FSX, so I don't see why it couldn't be in MSTS2.

Is this still in the plans for MSTS X? This is probably one of the top hopes on my list for this simulation. Real trains rock and sway. One BIG flaw of the original simulator was the lack of rocking and actual train movement. I really hope with all the time being put into this that this is included in the end product.

Kuju Rail Sim has this feature, but it looks like it's limited to the engines, it doesn't seem to work in the rail cars.
