I was curious if there will be a free camera to be able to look around and still hear all the sounds? The yard cam for MSTS is wonderful with the better routes to just sit on someones porch and watch trains, but lacks sounds and you have to tweak the program to get that. Will something default be available?

I was curious about the same thing. I was told to refer to Flight Sim for the kind of camera angles we will have with TS2. Check out YouTube for videos and such. From what I have seen on there it looks like it will be possible.

I'm fairly certain this was answered with a yes, but I can't find it right now. I may be confusing with KRS however.

I'm just deciding that this new sim may or may not be a step up from the first version. I'm looking forward to it. It seems like real people who know a little about trains are involved with it.
I also look back at all the stuff that was upgraded by people and wonder if this one will have the same enthusiasm of third party folks, and if third party folks will actually be allowed to mess with it. It took how many years to get Bin. Also the physics side of it is a factor.
Will we be able to kick cars around and not worry about the cars falling through the tracks? Will we be able to simulate hump operations. That would be interesting. Maybe I should wait, but curiosity always gets the best of me. We need to simulate real railroading and not interpretation. Hell, even throw in the exploded can of soup on the manifold. Dispatching options. Etc. etc... You all get the picture.

Yes. Just yesterday during a demo, we uncoupled cars as the train was moving. They kept rolling, just as they would in real life.

Each car will be a physics object. If the brake is not set, gravity will take effect, and the car will roll. This means kicking cars and pushing cars over a hump are definitely possibilites.

That is a plus then. I admit with a little bit of tweaking, MSTS can be fun to mess around with. I am getting sick of the fact the capabilities have been there to some extent, but our friends at Kuju left all the plus sides hidden deep in the program. I'm not a big fan of the fantasy type stuff, but my next questions are for the inventive people that create the fantasy island type routes. If all the topo and graphical data is already compiled, then will the people that make special routes be able to create their own fantasies? Port Ogden and Northern, Sea View and the Full Bucket are ones that come to mind.
