First I wish Mike good luck on his new endeavors, he's been a great asset to first the flightsim community and then the trainsim community. I as I'm sure everyone else here will miss him.
The other thing is what does this mean for the TS2 project. Whenever high level project managers leave during a development cycle is never a good sign!

Im wondering myself on what this will mean to the TS2 project as well. Hopefully, It wont do that much as from what I have seen so far with this sim. It looks to be a great upcoming sim.
On the other hand, I want to wish him the best of luck in the future whatever he decides to do and I thank him for keeping us updated on TS2 since the announcement of the sim.

Hi Everyone:
Fear not, Mike's departure should in no way be taken as a sign that our recent round of manager meetings went poorly. To the contrary, we actually had a great round of meetings, and the project is still very much a go. The rest of us are still here plugging away.
In fact, one of our devs just yesterday built a very cool road traffic AI prototype so we can manage vehicle traffic at road crossings and intersections.
I wish Mike the best as well. He's not leaving the company, but instead, moving on to a new position. Microsoft is a huge place, and it's common to move around from time to time.

....and that if the powers that be ever want to put him back into the project, we'd love to hear that announcement.
We all really appreciate your (plural) involvement in these forums, and regular feedback to us! Unlike another company that keeps changing names and so shall remain nameless.

And I do not guess that the development of TS2 lies in the hands of just one guy! ;)
