Hi,
Just thought I might have a go at getting my name on the side of a loco LOL.........
The serious question is this...........
What software does one use for what?
First off I wish to get images from Google Earth into my route. I am NOT after a "How to do it". I just want to know what software, pluggins (that work) etc. from where, that I need to get hold of to achieve it.

No plugins required just Google Earth, a graphics package such as Photoshop (commercial) or The GIMP (freeware), and Rail Simulator. Unfortunately to get the images into RS you need to create them as new texture assets (or "decals" as they are referred to), and to do this you need the Developer Tools, which have not yet been released for the US version :(

There's a good, comprehensive tutorial here (http://forums.uktrainsim.com/viewtopic.php?f=218&t=77230) though for when the tools have been released :)
