Lol! i know the US version just came out, but I was wondering if someone is planning to start the Northeast corridor in its entirely?
Which means Boston all the way down to Newport News? I know this would take a very long time to do, but it is cool to know that someone has taken the task to do it.
I have to try the demo before I get the real deal.
Thanks!

I'd love to see that too, being that I live near the Boston end. Running the high speed section through Rhode Island and the Connecticut shoreline would be fun...

yeah, but I think getting all the Amtrak locos, passenger cars, freight and stuff is the biggest objective before anyone starts a route.
Wow I can't believe I have been here since 2002 and the interest level remains so high. I will get KRS soon, but i want to see what ppl can come up with. Who knows maybe Kuju is planning doing the NEC as addon content.

If only there were a MSTS track and terrain converter to KRS, now that would be a great idea. Mike Simpson, get to it!;)

You think there's a licensing problem with Amtrak? We could do very well without Amtrak on the NEC, just give us the Pennsylvania, B&O and Jersey Central. I sure love to have the fantastic GG1 locs in RS.

I think he don't mean problems with licenses, we all know that you can use licensed logos of RR companies in sim, but only as freeware. Many discussions about lincenses are in MSTS section on this forum (including official statements from RRs). But main problem is, US route is situated in west coast, so for east coast route you need all stuff to be made from scratch (few things can be used from British scenery I guess) and it take lots of time. And trains with all godies possible in RS? Ah, much more time. So....
.....patience, my friends, patience..:)

And, if we're going to Boston, THE NEW HAVEN!!!!

I'd be happy with just a short section of the corridor, say Philadelphia-New York. A nice 90 min run. At least its a start to build on.

Cool! I would too. I just got Google Earth and i see the entire NEC tracks from it. First I have to pick up a copy of RS. But my GS Doesn't have it. i have to ask one of the workers who may have it in the draw.
I said I wasn't going to pick up RS unless there are more Amtrak stuff being made which I haven't seen yet. I may or may not get it.

Why do you need Amtrak? Why not the NEC when it was in its prime, say around 1940-1960! Thats when you had steam, electric and diesels competing for freight and passengers.

Amtrak is the reason I got into Rail sim in the first place. I am a hard core Amtrak fan. That is why.

Think you should get a job at Amtrak and see how much you like it! I worked there 16 years and its about the worse managed business I've seen. First of all, the top management are all ex-airline people and as such they butt heads with the old railroad people that have the lessor jobs. Most of these same ex-airline folk worked for companies that have been run into the ground are out of business.
The Amtrak interest in customer service is next to nil, most equipment is in disrepair (air conditioning and heating.) The trackage that Amtrak uses is owned and seldom maintained by freight railroads.
Basically, Amtrak is a disaster in civil transportation. They never will compare with the great service of say Japan Rail or most any European railway.
By the way, I use the handle "seaboardairline" because my father worked for the Seaboard Air Line Railroad when they ran super deluxe trains like the Silver Meteor and the Orange Blossom! So I'm second generation railroad!
