Here are some more of the Sullivan’s Curve, Mormon Rock/Pine Lodge/Alray and Summit areas.

As you can see these areas need work as does the Frost area (I thought Barney Rubble was going to show up at Sullivan’s Curve), but the KRS engine leaves a lot of room for the route developer to do what he or she wants. With some good data and digital photos of these locations someone could really go to town, it could really be jaw dropping.

One thing these screens can’t show is how realistic it is to see a train run past you in this sim.

Anyone who has ever been to Cajon knows that when you’re at Sullivan’s curve you can see approaching trains down at Cajon before they get to you up at the curve. Then its ear deafening notch eight and flange squeal.

Watching a train work its way up to the curve area is very realistic in KRS. The prime mover sounds on the locos need work, but the flange squeal and passing freight car sounds are very convincing.

These screen shots are very nice to look at, but I'd like to know what the activities are like. Frankly, I find activities that only involve baby-sitting a long train running through scenery for hours as B-O-R-I-N-G. I much prefer the activities on Rich Garber's Canton route, for example, almost all of which involve more switching (and thinking) than long hauls (and sleeping).
Amazon claims that I'll receive this new simulator in a few days--then I won't have to annoy anyone with these questions.

Thanks for the mouth-watering pictures!

Excellent screenshots. Definitely more than enough in the graphics department. I hope the audio and physics can compare.

Well since it appears that the scenario editor is much more simplified, you can create your own switching/local activities. Cajon Pass is more of a through-train route with not too many industries. New routes will be created that WILL cater to your interests though.

Even with the flaws, there's no denying those graphics. The terrain and scenery are phenomenal.

I agree with you 100 percent. Those screenshots of the terrain and scenery are phenomenal.

BTW djt1, Do you have the movie program FRAPS? If so, Care to make a video of this route. Would love to see some video of this route from a simmers perspective.

I’ll try to put something up when I get chance.

Thanks. Look foward to it when you get around to it.

Stunning shots Daniel. And to think that's just default stock. Just imagine the things that could emerge down the road from the community! Let's just hope the first patch is a good one that helps settle things down a bit and let KRS get off to the fair start it deserves. (and RSDL ... please lose the mandatory on-screen compass ... it just detracts so much!)

Looks great, with very good frame rates.

Do these stock scenarios have AI traffic in them?

Screen shots can't give you all the details. If yow want switching activities--they will come. Just be patient.
