Are there any more shots available of the US cabviews?

Can't get Fraps working properly on this ancient system of mine, since these are 3D cabviews you really need videos rather than screenshots. Let's see what I can do with screenshots tho, hard to do a 3D cab justice with flat pictures;

Default starting view from the GEVO;

Hold down the right mouse button and move the mouse forward to rotate the view down, AFAIK the display screens are purely for show and don't actually display. Windshield wipers do work.

Rotate left a bit, got the throttle and dynamics and reverser. Cigarette lighter is broken and there ain't no ashtrays, that funny looking postit note on the center post is probably a reminder for maintenance to fix it. ;)

Further left got the brake levers and assorted other buttons, the bell works on this one. Thought these new engines all had desktop type controls? Well, anyway, look out the back window;

Either I need to be taller or this seatback needs to be hacked to lower it down. Uh-oh, get the fire extinguisher, I dropped my cigar! :eek:

Now where did that thing go? Think I better get out of here, I like the SD40 better anyway, let this one burn. :p

We've been harrassing RSDL to add the display functionality, so we may see them working one of these days.

It would be cool if they did :)

Green with envy, I WANT your system! Can you do one for the SD40 now?! :D

The video is very impressive. Sounds are very realistic. Nice effect with the wipers and visors.

Seems this sim is ten years ahead of MSTS in those areas. Go figure.

Dare I ask how powerful of a machine is required? And does it require Vista?

No Vista required, you're thinking of that other trainsim scheduled to come out in Octember of 2437 or whatever. As for how powerful;

Dell XPS 400
P4 2.8ghz dual processor
1 gig 533MHZ RAM
OS Win XP media SP 2
DirectX 9C
Nvidia Geforce 8400 GS PCI express x16, 256mb DDR2
19" Dell flat panel monitor
Hard drive Maxtor 6L160M0
SigmaTel onboard audio

Runs okay, not great but okay, on that.

Click the "Can you run it" button there, give you an idea of what on your system is good, great, marginal, or fossilized.

Tell me it didn't escape them to include GEVO sounds with the ES44ACs... Never heard a GEVO with an EMD 645E3 beating inside it's hood. Nonetheless, I'm impressed with the cabview. And even if the sounds are incorrect for the GEVO, they are dead on accurate for the SD40-2.

And even if the sounds are incorrect for the GEVO, they are dead on accurate for the SD40-2.

Unfortunately their not “dead on” accurate for the SD40-2 either. As far as sound goes the original TrainMaster was about the closest to ideal for a SD40-2 as you are going to get in consumer sim.

Judging from the sound engine used in KRS they could really have some nice sound effects with this sim if they just get some data from the prototype.

I suppose you're right. There have been some fantastic 645 sets made for MSTS as well.
