Hey, don't give it up. Try it again, building route in RS is easier than in MSTS. And people here will help you if you run in trouble. You can also check video tutorials on RS website.
What route you planned to build?

I just watch 13 of the videos and I must say it looks toooo easy to lay track. I have a lot invested in MSTS but it looks like a move is in the very near future. I want to do the KCS in the New Orleans area. I hope KRS has more US routes and equipment in the works, just from what I saw in the videos i'd give KRS a strong 8.9 of 10 stars.

Yep, I agree with you. RS is good platform, even default stuff look's perfect. When i get my copy of US version (right now somewhere above Atlantic ocean..:-), i plan to start on my own project. But i better not announce it before i get something more than few miles of track in green desert..:-D) My plan is to build short branchline, not based on real one, but situated to the Midwest. Single track, few towns, lots of fields, woods....
.....GP30 and few grain hoppers, that's it!..:)

Well good luck...Its not as easy as she looks ;)....Laying track is not bad...But when ya have to line up a WYE or trying to make sidings or industry spurs, its a pain in the butt......Ill just wait for others to pop some out :)

Hi,
Track laying is like the rest of life, just takes practice. An example being the concept of building out from one point rather than trying to join two areas of track together....., this came from the "early" days of lack of experience and seemed like the way around peoples track laying/joining problems. Is perfectly feasible to make alterations in the middle of anywhere, just takes practice and oh yes, a bit more practice. It may not happen over night, but it does happen. Just like learning to save ones work OFTEN ;-)
