oh of course im going to release it. it was just a test to see if i could do some creative reskinning. the locomotive is a pain to skin, and ha several errors or silly mappings. for instance:
the porthole thats supposed to be on the front and is modeled there but has no glass or texture - if you texture it, the outline of the window gets textures all silly.
some of the vents on the side dont take well to striping over them or putting color seperations on them.
the radiator intake on the left side has bad texture coordinates.
overall its a good model or i woudnt paint it. the SD40-2 has to go, and soon. i plan to release a brand new and accurate SD40-2 very soon.

Glad to see you entering the RS scene. Learned to skin using your models and look forward to seeing your work (especially the SD40-2) :)

I would love it if you do a snootnose SD40-2. That will give more variety to the standard nose that is included. Real railfans will notice that the default SD40-2 is just an ATSF unit in UP paint. I would like to see the default engine either get repainted in a nice H3 paint job or a blue and yellow warbonnet or better yet both.

real railfans will notice that its also not the great of a model. hopefully once the tools are out we can fix that ;) ;)

Justin I think that KUJU third party development is wide open and from the models I have seen you do in the past for Trainz I think it may be your oppurtunity to have your own company producing top quailty addons. I have often referred to friends as you being the "Danny Beck" of Trainz. Whether your creations were free or payware I know I wouldn't mind having them especially if made to level of detail I think you would do.
I am really looking forward to seeing your new SD40-2 in the sim. Just you repainting the default engine has me relooking at purchasing RS sooner. I really am looking forward to seeing the default SD in new more appropriate paint.
Once again I would like to put in a request for a snootnose UP if you decide to create something being UP was known for them to add a little more variety to the early fleet of engines.

Where can one get the locos for downloading? I've check the main files in Train-Sim and nothing is showing? Thanks for the help.
