Anybody thinking of doing this extension route to the Barstow to San Bernardino route? Sure would be nice if someone could do this extension, I had a lot of fun heading up (or down) the Palmdale cutoff in the 3d train stuff route in MSTS.

Here's your big chance to develop a route for RS!:D

Would be nice - I miss the sense of real depth you get from that vast triangle of track - as you head up to Barstow, you know, somewhere off to the West that there really is some more track and (virtual) life :)

Well then why not expand that even further....

I mean think about it.. Barstow California is a Hub of rail Activity as you have not only the UP/SP Running from Colton-Palmdale-Mojave (and over the Tehachapi Pass), but you have also the Barstow-Mojave (Which ties back into the UP/Sp Stuff), and then what about the East side of the equation?

I mean going east out of Barstow you have Daggett, where the UP/SP Diverges from the BNSF mainline and heads off for Las Vegas-Salt Lake City, but you also have the Barstow-Needles run across miles of open desert...

Believe me I think this could be the longest set of routing yet, or if given the chance, throw in the Tehachapi area and you got one HUGE chunk of Real Estate...with enough Routes to keep you going..

(and of course here's more ideas..

Colton - Yuma..(Over the Low San Gorgonio Pass where you have wind turbines and open desert, you skirt the Salton Sea and even tie into the old Kaiser Mine spur..

After all there's a lot of Territory in Southern California where you can run trains.. it's just getting the data together and the track and details to be laid out that makes it worth the effort..

(and for the Folks in Arizona? Yuma-Tucson, Tucson-Lordsburg New Mexico..

Lots and lots and lots of track...

but there's plenty of trackage.. just need to do it..

Heck I wouldn't mind programming some of these routes..)

It'll have to be done in separate sections ( like tehachappi pass, calton to mojave (extension to barstow-san bernardino), and yuma). If we all agree who does what it'll come out sooner and everyone would enjoy it quicker. Me, i'm doing my own thing up here in Canada (working on southern Ontario).

I've been contemplating Mojave to Los Angeles via the metrolink but I haven't been on that route in a while. More so just throwing ideas around :p
