When you lay track with a gradient, it raises above the terrain. Is there a quick way to get the terrain to come up to the same level as the track, or do you have to raise it manually?

Something like Michael Vone's book for MSTS would be a great help. I have waded through some of the stuff and have reached the point where I have some serial markers and named markers showing up on terrain that has shaped pretty well with .hgt files, but I have a few basic questions the answers to which I cannot find anywhere:

1. If I know the height the track should be above sea level, how can I specify a
starting point that is correctly set ASL. I also do not see where it is possible to
measure the terrain elevation either ASL.

2. How does one start a curve from tangent track?

I will say that the only really bad feature that I have found is the serial markers. The black lines are fine, but they are often below grade and they follow dips through riverbeds etc. I also notice that the track dips down in a riverbed as well. Why cannot a gradient
be specified for the track over a river?

Yep, a book would be nice, and I would be quite willing to pay for one in the $30 range like Vone's was.

hi,
try looking in........
C:\Program Files\Rail Simulator\Manuals\EN\Rail Simulator - Editor User Guide.pdf

Nothing flash I know but it at least explains whats available, and there by giving some clues as to what just might be worth a try. I totally accept that there is no "How To" to be found at this location.. The www.railsimulator.com tutorial videos are worth a look.
