Hey guys,
This is probably the simplest repaint in all of train sim history, but I took the black ES44 and slapped some white paint on it to get this. Needs stripe alignment on the other side, re-numbering, new number fonts, darker underframe, and rear end stripes, but it's been a fun project. Not to mention that it's nice to have some eastern US power available to play with in Rail Sim!.

Thanks everyone. I managed to darken the trucks and the side striping is improved, but not quite there yet.
What I was wondering is where are the numberboards mapped to? I know that the numbers themselves are from the number textures, but I want to find the sides and frames for the numberboards to paint them white. Any ideas, anybody?

Beauty! I have NS running by my window several times a day. Looking forward to it. Appreciate the effort.

Hope this helps- its on the bottom left hand corner of the ES44_body_3.TgPcTx file. Some of this stuff is a pain to find.:(

Hard to find? Phew, you got that right. Anybody mind explaining what the roller bearing textures were doing in Grills.TXwhatever? Oh well, I'll get to that tomorrow. It might be a snow day for us Pennsylvanians anyway, so more KRS time for me! :-D
Here's a pic I took while doing some yard work in Barstow. Although the storm effects may not be totally accurate, they are VERY dramatic!

Went to that teen rail website you mentioned but still don't see where this is? Don't understand why you could not have posted it here in the KRS files as well. I live above NS trackage. See there stuff all the time. Please post the NS reskin. Thank you.

It's not here because it's not done, simply enough. I don't have the time to live in front of my PC 24/7, and even if I did, I'd probably choose otherwise. There isn't a huge amount left to do on the NS locomotive, but every paint adjustment takes time, especially when the rear headlights on the ES44 shape block the logo. This might end up as the "Headless horsehead" logo on the end of the long hood because of where Kuju put the headlights... But anyway, I know it seems weird to put a week or two of delay on the public release, but I'd like to reward the friedns and supporters who keep a good community together for teenagers in a sometimes less-than-youth-friendly hobby area. Trust me, this will get up to the File Library not long after my friends/testers get their mits on it.
Just while I'm thinking of my "headless horsehead" logo mapping problem, I wonder if RSDL will ever do a couple of simple adjustments to the US rolling stock shapes to give us cab headlight-equipped SD40-2s and ES44DCs/ES44ACs. That would be the quickest payware add-on ever, and I'd bet anything that it would sell great to all of us US railfans that don't live in the Western desert lands of nose headlights!

beg your pardon but CSX and about SCL, Family Lines and Seaboard all used nose headlights, last time i checked i dont live in the desert:P
but i do agree, mabye if Kuju could release the meshes that would be best since theres like a million different versions of SD40-2's and a couple of variations of GEVO's.
btw: looking forward to the NS skin when you are done.

Whoops! Sorry if I seemed offensive in my obviously ignorant moment. :-( Sould've known that... I've got a few CSX and Seaboard N scale models. Now that you mention that the Seabord headlights were in the nose, that might make a good next project. I'll have to stick to repainting until some of the computer wizzards make progress into building whole new locomotives, so maybe SCL might make a nice scheme to try for next. I've been wanting an eastern-road SD40-2 for a while now.

Since it's NS wouldn't it technically be an ES05?

It would actually be an ES40DC since NS orders their units with 4000 horsepower instead of the usual 4400 horsepower. The headlights would actually be horizontal on the cab instead of vertical on the nose.
This is the way NS's locos are.

Have you considered a job in the air traffic control field? That went pretty far over your head...
