I'm probably missing something very simple when setting up a new route.I have made it through to where I have the route and terrain generated but the ground is gray. How do I get the green ground textures? thanks in advance for any help.

I had this same problem yesterday.

I could not get textures until I ran the RailSim editor mode in a window. I had the gray terrain when trying to run the edit mode in 'Full screen'.

So run RailSim, click 'Options', uncheck 'Full screen'.

Create the route. Click the big orange triangle ('Play') in the bottom window. Quit the game and save any changes if asked.

Restart RailSim and select your new route. Click 'Scenario" then 'Edit' to start in Scenario edit mode. Or just run your route then click the 'World' edit button in the lower pop-up window.

I think this problem may be caused by the particular videocard and driver that you are using. At some time it should be possible to edit your route in full screen mode. Maybe you just have to have added some track and objects and terrain before the route is initialized to the point where the windowed mode is no longer necessary.

Hi,
Once you have your route created and you are in the game world editor you need to tell it what content you want it to have access to. this you do by clicking on the blue square with the orange tab in the top left of the middle left fly out box. this will give you a right fly out box in which you have to click on FUJU for all the default stuff, and from the drop down list this brings up, click on rail Simulator . there will be a green tick appear in around 5 few seconds( yip it takes its time) next to the words rail simulator. then exit your route (no need to exit the whole game) and come back into it again and all will be well, I believe. Then your empire can unfold before your eyes, or is that...... from under your finger tips.

this might be a better concept of what may help you

thanks for your replies, I found where I was making the mistake. In the blueprint editor under terrain I was putting in railsimultorcore instead of just railsimulator.knew it had to be something simple:rolleyes:

Colleagues,

I also found this problem, but it went away as soon as I extruded some
terrain. As long as the ground was flat, I could either have a grey
terrain, or a bright blue terrain. Extrusion works really well with this
product.
