Official RSDL packager is probably the simplest way to package addon routes that don't use custom content, the current downside of the official packager is it won't package clones of default assets from the Kuju folder. So for this tutorial I'm using RS tools (the missing bits), available in the file library in the KRS section.

First thing is to package the route itself, fairly straightforward and self explanatory.

Since they're in separate folders, you need to keep track of any custom objects or textures you used in the route, and where they are. PO&N uses Mike's clone of the default container crane and some custom track rules.

I make a temporary folder on my desktop, then go to the RS_Tools_The_Missing_Bits folder, open the Port Ogden & Northern US1 folder, and copy the two files and rail simulator folder from that to the temp folder.

Since I'm not packaging the assets separately I ignore the AssetSetup.exe installer and just copy the Rail Simulator folder from the \RS_Tools_The_Missing_Bits\TrackRules folder (RStools gives it the name of the first asset you packaged) and paste that into the temp desktop folder, yes to overwrites.

Currently RStoolsTMB only selects the entire folder, you can't pick and choose files, so after copying the folders in I delete the unwanted default files from the assets track rules folder.
Last step, write a file_ID.diz and/or a readme.txt, starting with "KRS", then route or diesel or steam loco or whatever it is so Nels knows where to put it, and zip it all up and upload it.
