Question 1: The video of the "Figure of 8" Tutorial for Rail Simulator looks SO straight forward, but I've not been able to come anywhere near duplicating it. The problem (for me) seems to center around getting the mating rails to merge correctly. Have others been able to and it means only I'm just all thumbs?
Question 2: It occurred to me that I may not have installed MK1 upgrade correctly. The version number on the Credits page in Rail Simulator says: "RailSim V74.3f" Is this the correct version number for the MK1 upgrade?
Thanks
Wes

Yup, there's one! Port Ogden & Northern US 2 in the file library, start at Huff Refinery and go east. Need to (1) have snap to track ON and all the other stuff like tangents and snap to terrain OFF so you get the pink lines when the track will form a switch. The auto switch gizmo also needs elbow room to work, so (2) use a track rule that allows tighter radius curves, and (3) try to make longer stretches of track so it has unbroken track to work with.

Snap to track also works best when you're curving onto an unbroken straight section, here I laid one straight track and curved around, went back straight again to cross over that and curved back the other way, discovered that my angle was wrong and I couldn't get the curve tight enough so I reversed the curve to come back to the straight.

That forms a switch, so select the unwanted track past the switch and hit the delete key, then select the weld tool and click on the gray box to get rid of the buffers.

Want to make it more precise than that you'll probably have to fiddle with the angles a bit.
