this looks like where this belongs, although it's not a problem... I bought Maple Leaf Tracks, Delaware and Hudson Bridge-Line last night.... I can't get the .exe file to run because Norton 360 thinks it's infected with a trojan virus... (both MLT, and SLI have this problem).... thing is, I can not, for the life of me, figure out how to temporarily shut Norton 360 down... I could do it easily on the older Norton... but I can't find it on this version..... anyone know how to do it?
:confused::confused:

From the main N360 Menu:

Tasks & Settings>Change Advanced Settings>Virus & Spyware Protection Settings>Automatic Protection Settings>uncheck "Turn On Auto-Protect">click Apply

Another option is to open the Task Manager with Ctrl-Shift-Esc and in it's Applications section shut it down.

It will load again the next time you re-start your computer.

You should be able to disable it by right clicking on the tray icon and selecting the Disable Auto Protect. You will then get a menu asking for how long to disable it. Wait a minute after disabling and then run the install.

BTY, be sure that your computer is physically disconnected from the internet, Modem shut off or Ethernet cable unplugged, before disabling any protection software.

The best thing you could do for your computer is to permanently remove Norton 360 from your computer and get another brand of AV. I posted a message on 4/15 about N360 destroying a perfectly good program it thought was a virus.

I have used Symantec products for years, and I was sorely disappointed by N360.

I had looked at the features and didn't need what it offered compared with NIS. Have had no problems with it.

Charter runs a virus checker through its server which blocks most attempts at infecting computers on its net. It also strips infected attachments from much of the spam.
