bs cc rr,

I did install your script and took a look at it. It did not seem to address my issue that I recently posted under the Blender Basics Book thread. Maybe, since you seem to be much more advanced that I am in Blender, you could offer some advice for my texturing problem.

Thanks

Maybe we can work together on this. I am having a time assigning materals.
I do have the texturing & modeling part down

but i keep getting "invalid shader materal Cube_tex,tex" error when i try to export

Well, I don't understand the lack of responses or even acknowledgements of my post on Blender Basics Book and your post of your new pyton script.

I have read all of the related dev documents and practically all of the blender tutorials that are available on the web, and I still do not see the magic for getting the correct texture to display on an exported model.

There seem to be at least a handful of people using Blender for Rail Simulator, but none of them have seen fit to help us with our exporting issues.

Looks like frustration and I know the feeling.
Some "procedures" are secrets I guess ;)
Till now I din't find not ONE good explanation.
Like you, I know there are people who have the "knowlegde"...but...but...but.

hi,
Just a suggestion, go web hunting for Blender tutorials for MSTS. the process of creating the model right up to exporting the igs file is still perfectly valid. Any tutorials out there might have tips on what your looking for.

might..... ;)

I gave up on Blender.
I use Max.
(big bucks, I know)

The process to get something in the game is steep and lang...

I did try Trainz, MSTS but the editor in RS is the best.
Laying tracks idem dito. RS is good in this features.

The fact that I have crashes both in Max (no cure so far) and the
Asset Editor makes it not easy.
RS needs a lot of memory and I don't know if Windows has a part in all this.

The devdocs are good for people with a lot of experience.

I have no fun in using other peoples objects...
So I go on struggeling;)
(sorry for my bad English)
