Having started creating it, I thought that some of you would like to use what there is to date and make your own version. ;)

I have no idea what real freight trains on that route consist of and the trains I would use in it might not be what you would like to see running.

These GPS Route Markers will apply to all copies of the CAJON until Mike Simpson has helped me create specific for my version Named Route Marker files. You might prefer mine anyway and if not then their original files are supplied.

This is the Freeroam scenario's opening screen, letting you choose a services locos yard to fly to:

Having selected to fly to the Barstow East locos yard, the only one stocked with some to date, here they are to be driven:

http://forums.flightsim.com/vbts/attachment.php?attachmentid=3542&stc=1&d=1209497197

Having found that the Oro Grande and Victorville yards are on the side of the track used by AI trains, the player crossing it possibly causing a problem, I decided to terminate the dedicated for AI services track North of Oro Grande and then re-start it South of Victorville, giving Freeroam player services full access to all of their yards tracks !

There are now 3 AI locos running when the scenario starts, one from Oro Grande North towards Barstow East, one from Victorville South to San Bernardino West and another one from a new Cajon station siding, joining the AI path ahead of the Victorville AI loco which is using the same path, having started at the same time.

These AI trains now running in the opposite direction to the selected player services, which are mostly being driven either towards San Bernardino or Barstow, means that after spawning more of them from the 3 AI starting Portals, the player should see oncoming ones running on the dedicated for them outside tracks at 15 minutes intervals.

More intermediate AI spawning sidings can be created to have more trains running everywhere at the start, making sure that the last one joining the common AI track does not get in the way of the first one approaching on it, having been spawned further back, maintaining an approx. 15 minutes gap.

The scenario editor's PLAY function with speeds up to 32x will confirm that all AI are running as they should !

But as John recommends, F2 save the WIP scenario before "Playing" it and after having played it then exit RS without saving and reload it for another editing session, which will also clear RAM, like we had to do with the MSTS RE !

It is a stand-alone route, not interfering with other RS routes, ready to install for "running out of the box" with Mike Simpson's RouteSetup.exe after unzipping the downloads:

www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/rs/cajon-otto-route.zip - 80Mb

and if you do not have the required by it locos, here they are:

www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/rs/cajon-otto-locos.zip - 50Mb

If you have also downloaded the EA-Bonus US rolling stock, you can then let your imagination run wild, filling yards with consists, save them for use elsewhere and attaching a loco to selected ons add them to the AI spawning Portals. ;)

I am going to continue with my version when I am in the mood and then make it available too.

There is a lot to be achieved in RS, but takes a lot of finding out the hard way with trial and error, experimenting until a solution has been found, which is not always possible ! :(

Ottodad,
The links on this post are not to be found at that site. Your site comes up but the other 2 for the Cajon do not.

My Freeroam only version of the B-SB has since been updated with more Player consists at both ends, made some track changes at Barstow and added loose consists there.
