Just press "T" with the truck centered underneath the loader.

Just take your train of empties and as you spot each one under the crane, press the 't' key and voila! you're ready spot the next one, and the next one, and the next one.

I remember the first time I used the crane and the first five cars or so was fun then it started to hit me and I thought to myself "this is about as fun as it would be in real life, this really is simulation!"

you can always place 4 or 5 cranes back to back, then it is just a case of pressing the T key 4 or 5 times.

Yes, positioning of the blue box and markers under the crane is critical to get the position right for loading the wagons.
Make sure you only press the T key when you are in the game, if you are in the editor, it sets the terrain to the DEM data, as there is no DEM for the Cajon Pass route, it drops it to sea level :-(

Hi James --
"this is about as fun as it would be in real life, this really is simulation!"
Some of us have been having fun with a real simulation for, well, let's see, the last four years:

No Phil, as again, if they'd sorted the bugs, in 2006 anyway, it would have been great. And Classsics was really a rip-off!!

Hi Chris --
Absolutely no dispute with what you've just said.
Which is why I said "the last four years" - 2008 minus 4 equals 2004. Others may differ, but I always assert that TRS2004 is by far the best of the franchise.

So people have said in the past Bob, and I knew you had more that 1 version from previous threads both here and "there".
I didn't start "playing trains" until the last couple of years and 2006 was my first version and I became very disappointed with that, so I bought Classics 1 & 2 - what a "silly move".
I guess I'll have to look out for 2004.

People who turned their noses up and didn't buy Trainz ( TRS2004 & 06 ), missed out on a lot.
Mike.
