Hiya folks.....working on something and I recall someone posting something about some utility that either beats the 3500 limit, or a method of combining several less than 3500 poly objects into one object then re-exporting into an .S file that will work in the RE for scenery objects. I'm hoping the fellow who made the original reply with a suggestion for a solution will read this and reiterate what the utility or solution was????

You can use freight animations, of course, doubling your poly count (theoretically) and I do remember something else someone was working on, but as I recall it wasn't 100%... I solved it by switching to GMAX... Not that I've ever gone over it...

I went back to TSM to do a quick project the other day, and I found an interesting bug. If you texture an object, and change the orientation of it, the shape changes - but the textures don't...

BTW, did you happen to see my previous post for you?

Bill, I believe you are thinking about Shape Fixer. It should be in the library, possibly under sfix1.zip

Shape fixer doesn't combine several S files into one, but does allow models to use more than 10,000 polys.

Actually, not a bug but a very useful tool for custom placement of textures such as my chain link fencing and woven wire fences which use the same texture. Difference is the chain link is applied tiled to a 45* rotated part before rotating back. That eliminated the ugly pixtalation of the Kujo version. I could easily make the chain link to a 2" mesh but it won't show up unless you are on top of it using a 1280x1024 or higher display.

Also makes for easy placement of sheet metal onto a round roof using custom texture placement for each poly. You rotate the round roof to position before placing each poly's texture.

Thanks for the help everyone...and that police cruiser looks very nice. I'll have a high-detail scenery object for engine servicing out soon.

I need to fix the back license plate, it's kind of stretched out over the bumper, but it's an easy object to re-sking.

I hate to be a pain, but your animation for the light bar is OUTSTANDING!

You, umm, wouldn't consider, ummm, perhaps doing a couple of Fire trucks, would you? I'm pretty sure I know how to do the animation, but I wouldn't want to steal your idea and textures. I'm kind of persnickety about not stealing other people's work...
