This is what worked for me
As I said in previous post I use 3dcanvas.Load your building into the scene.
You need to put your day windows and night windows in 2 separate groups.
Group name Windows_day and group name Windows_fx_night.You can name
object in each group anything. I just call mine Cube as long as they are not both
the same.See heiarchy picture.
All my day windows are separate cubes, textured and place were I want them.
They then need to all merged together as one object using the object merge and placed in a
group called Windows_day. "Note" In certain cases you may not want all windows to shine at night.
just put the windows you want to shine at night in the "Windows_day" group. Any others
just group them and put in the main folder.
For the night windows I use cube for each window that I want lit at night.
Resize the cube to the width and heighth of the window you are going to cover it with.
For thickness I resize it to .001.Place your panels over the windows you want to show
night texture, leaving a small gap between the panel and the day windows.I place them
so I can see a slight gap between the panel and building. These panels then all need to be
merged together using the object merge function and the group named windows_fx_night.
Now you need to texture the panels,If you just want a bright white light you can paint
them all white, but if you want a slight window texture you need to make them up or what I
did and cheat as I am not good at making textures.I loaded RailSimulator, set the scenerio
time to make it dark and loaded in some default stations until I found some lighted windows
I liked and used a program called Snagit to just take a picture of the lighted window.
I then loaded the saved window picture in to paintshoppro and resized it to different size windows
I wanted, worked a bit on the colouring until I got the shade I wanted and then made a new 256 x256 file
and copy and pasted the windows into it and saved it as bmp file for 3dcanvass to use.
Back in 3dcanvas,load your night windows bmp file and just take a small square of a light colour
from a window and use the bucket tool and paint the night window panels. This will make sure all
faces are textured when you export the building. Now I use the "point and face selection tool",highlight a
window face ,select the window I want to use fom the windows bmp file and use the UV map selection to
paint the face. When you are finished painting the windows, move your Window_fx_night group in to the main group
as you will see in the heiarchy picture.next highlite your night window object and right click and select properties.
In the property panel put in AddATex In the material attributes, under Rail Sim.See properties picture Save and
then export .
Load up the Asset editor making sure you have put the window night bmp in to the texture file and used
ToAce to convert to an .Ace file.
If you have already had the building in to the rail Simulator, just load the.xml file, save and export.
Export your ,igs file, then hit preview and then open the preview window ,change from daylight to dark and
you should see your windows glow...Good luck
