Any known drawback to using the RailSimEditor instead of the "normal" RailSim? I can't see anything negative but ...... I could see RailSim as needed to do any final test if you were going to distribute an addon.

I've had a couple of CTD's using this mode in edit, but in fairness I was using FS mode at the time.

So did I, testing the RailSim.exe just now, moving from the drive scenario into the world editor, change to the scenario editor, change something and go back to driving again.
Read something a while back that in order to use all the scenario editing functions RS should be started with the RailSimEditor.exe, which is what I have been doing since installing it.

Yes, the scenario functions are expanded in the Editor version. I have also had program problems in Editor but 90% of what I do is in that mode. Only drawback seems to be the the need for the CD.

Until today I have not been able to run RS in windowed mode and had no problems running it with the RailSimEditor.exe in fullscreen mode from the day it was released and then later added the -NoSplashScreens command line switch which stops them wasting time loading RS. ;)
It is only when using the RSDEV\Tools\Assets Editor that RS needs to be run in windowed mode.
