After getting the straight skinny from a kind soul here on the forum on how to get a shadow to show up on a specific object (station platform), I find that I have another problem to solve.
In the attached screenshots, you can see that after changing the platform's properties to AlphNorm, the shadow shows up just fine, but the defining edges of the platform are almost non-existant. Also, when viewed from an angle, the platform seems not to be under the station buildings, when in fact it is.
I've tried AlphNorm and TransNorm, both with the same results. Things just don't look right on these overhead walkways without the attendant shadow, but it seems to be a toss-up over whether to keep the shadow, or have normal-looking platforms.
Any advice?
How about a consensus on which looks better, the shadows in place, or no shadow with normal-looking platforms?
Thanks,
Jeff
