Greetings!

I'm just getting into Rail Simulator, and I'm investigating the many capabilities of Mike Simpson's excellent Kick Start (v1.0.59). In part of his documentation on how to change the weather he shows the RailSimulator\Weather folder, and it holds these files: Clear.bin, Rain.bin, RainStorm.bin, Sleet.bin, Snow.bin, Snowstorm.bin and several general Weather1-8.bins. I'm using the US version of the program, and I've searched through the other Weather folders (in RailSim Core and Railsim US) and can find the Weather.bins, but don't see the first set (Clear.bin, etc). Did my installation go awry? I'd really like to employ those weathers if I could. Also, is there some sort of guide to what kind of weather (if that's how it works) the individual Weather1-8.bins create? I could just try those settings in turn, of course, but would be appreciative for any assistance.

Thanks.

Try a couple Rainer, as I think Mike may have used a better description of these, than in RS did.

The weather a scenario can use is determined by it's "Objects Set Filter", which is the smaller blue cube in the left middle pull-out in the Scenario editor, which lets you choose the available assets sub-folders in it's right pull-out window.

Mixing US, UK and other add-on assets types is not recommend when creating routes for distribution in case some RS users do not have both version of RS or the add-ons installed !

If you want improved weather options, which do not change dynamically from clear to a hurricane while driving in a scenario, ;) then try Tom Boswell's:

www.otto-wipfel.co.uk/rs/tom-boswell-weather.zip

After un-zipping it into a temporary folder then run it's RouteSetup.exe !

Gentlemen,

Thank you all for your help and advice. As always, plenty of support from far and near to be found on the Train-sim forums.
