Hello

Just wanted to know if anyone wanted to tackle this as a scenery object? The following pictures are of a cement plants rotory kiln.
As you can see in the pictures there are two kilns side by side. The technical drawning shows that the kiln is mounted at a slight angle to horizontal. It's slightly higher on the feed end of the kiln as compared to the discharge end.
I'm not asking for a super detailed every rivet/bolt/nut modeled, just a basic opject that looks like a rotory kiln. Again if anyone would like the challenge I'd greatly aprieciate it.

Thanks for you time.

I worked around a lime kiln, and those things give you an headache because of the lime dust. Anyways, That looks pretty good, any idea on the actual length? and are you wanting just the parts of the rotary piece, or the entire set around it?

Thanks for the reply. Well the one I've got picture of is 550' long or around 175 meters. 20' in diameter.
As I've stated in the first post I'm not looking for perfection nor am I a rivet counter. So long as it looks like a rotory kiln it will be goo enough. As for detail level I'll leave that up to the artist.

As for stuctures around the kiln, the file library has a great cement plant , but it's missing a few key tiems for s true dry process plant. Those items are....Rotory Kiln, Cooling grate house"Located at the discharge end of the kiln", Ball mill house, and Clinker storage house.

As for the kiln itself it looks to be made of 50 foot sections with each section spanned by a tyre to assist in the kilns rotation. also key to the kiln is the drive gear, and kiln hood at the dischrage end. In some of the picture you see tube surrounding the kiln at the discharge end. they are supercoolers. So if the finished kiln could possibly have these items plus the support columes, then I'd be happy, anything extra is icing on the cake.

Again thanks for you your reply.

Why don't you just make one?
Here is a photo of one I made in 2004 or so.
And there is a tutorial on the Steam4Me site on how to do it with TSM.
