No shots of anything in the air this year; there was really nothing worth photographing that I haven't shot several times already.
On the tarmat however, were a few treats that I had never seen before.
This was the first year since early 2000 that a AC-47 has attended the show.

Coming for a landing
Jeez, are they loud
When did E-2s get 8 bladed props? What's the effect on performance?

Doh! See what posting in a rush does!
Glad yall enjoyed them. Wish I had more to show but the heat and lack of interest for anything lined up to fly during the morning show kept me from staying.
The Hawk Eye's 8 bladed prop... I forget what the reasoning behind that was however I have seen several with them. Considering they wont be around much longer I fired a few frames before the crowds rushed under the wings for shade.

Very nice selection of WW2 birds. The Hurricane was quite a neat surprise in this mix.

Nice shoots!
Is that a carrier based torpedo bomber beside the Hurricane? Sadly I cannot remember what it was called at the moment. Also, no shots of the B-17?
Thanks for sharing!

Yea out of all the stuff there once I made it past security I made Bee line for the back of the tarmat, were all the warbirds are kept. They just appeal to me more than the jet fighters of today.
Expect plenty more warbirds in the later months of the year. Once I get down to Daytona Beach and get settled in at the college I will do a bit of joy riding around to the local WWII restoration shops. The "White 1", an FW-190 in Kissimmee, Florida is on my to visit list.
Too bad at the college im being trained to work on modern powerplants and not radials :(

That would be a Turkey (TBM Avenger). Every time I saw that thing its been parked in the worst lighting conditions possible.
The B-17 is the Memphis Belle replica. I shot her last year but I did fire one or two frames of her again just due to better lighting. The shot through the prop of the Mustang was a poor attempt at being creative. It would have worked out had the crowds stayed in the same spot prior to me lining up the photo -.- Seems like every time im ready to take a photo of something, the whole airshow wants to move infront of that plane and just stand there.
