Makes one wonder what will finally be resolved with Pluto. Several decades as a planet only to be demoted to a "dwarf planet" (lasting only two years), and now it seems that is not good enough! So now Pluto is a "plutoid". Curious as to what the odds are for this lasting.
Would it not be easier just to leave Pluto grandfathered in as a planet until such a time that astronomers can finally decide on a classification system that will actually last?

That's the way Astronomy is, though. After all, the Messier list is nothing more than a list of things that aren't comets. A rather strange way to organize things...
