View Full Version : Need education on Flat Screens

Hello all,
I have been using a Viewsonic flat panel 19" viewable monitor for five years now, and I think it may be ending it's own life, as for no reason it has just blanked out on me twice in the last few days, though power is still on. After turning it off, letting it sit a minute, then starting it, it will come back, but...this has never happened before and want to be prepared for the inevitable day...
I am pretty computer literate, build my own gaming machines, but know nothing of flat screens. Since this is the way I would go, what things should I consider when setting out to purchase a flat screen for the sole purpose of gaming, with internet secondary?
I would gladly take endorsements from those who have a wonderful MSTS experience with their flat screens. Please provide make, resolutions, etc.

Thanks in advance to all who respond.

Neil :)

Keep in mind the sweet spot right now for gaming is the 24”-26” screen size. Most if not all of the LCD’s in this size range have a native resolution of 1920x1200 which MSTS does not support.
