"Remember: the mind of a Democrat is like the pupil of the eye. The more light you shed on it, the more it closes."
Go to this website, http://thomas.loc.gov/home/thomas.html select a Democrat representatives, and note what bills he - she has sponsored.
Probably the best example of legislatives achievement is the Democrat's candidate for President. (Note, links not functional except on the Thomas website.)
1. S.CON.RES.5 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:1:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A concurrent resolution honoring the life of Percy Lavon Julian, a pioneer in the field of organic chemistry and the first and only African-American chemist to be inducted into the National Academy of Sciences.
2. S.CON.RES.25 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:2:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A concurrent resolution condemning the recent violent actions of the Government of Zimbabwe against peaceful opposition party activists and members of civil society.
3. S.CON.RES.44 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:3:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A concurrent resolution expressing the sense of Congress that a commemorative postage stamp should be issued honoring Rosa Louise McCauley Parks.
4. S.CON.RES.46 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:4:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A concurrent resolution supporting the goals and ideals of Sickle Cell Disease Awareness Month.
5. S.RES.133 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:5:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A resolution celebrating the life of Bishop Gilbert Earl Patterson.
6. S.RES.268 (http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquery/D?d110:6:./temp/%7EbdDxrR::%7C/bss/d110query.html%7C): A resolution designating July 12, 2007, as "National Summer Learning Day".
About half of the 126 sponsored pieces of legislation are these;
"Purpose will be available when the amendment is proposed for consideration. See Congressional Record for text."

Considering that its impossible to tell the difference between Dems and Repubs by their spending patterns, all we have left to identify the difference is ebonics.

A few more for Ron, courtesy of Republicans. This is simply a sampling between congresspeople on the House side whose last name begins between the letters A and D. There are 22 more letters in the alphabet to go.
H.R.5736 : To designate the Department of Veterans Affairs outpatient clinic in Gadsden, Alabama, as the Colonel Ola Lee Mize Veterans Clinic.
H.R.924 : To require the Food and Drug Administration to permit the sale of baby turtles as pets so long as the seller uses proven methods to effectively treat salmonella. (now that's one for the economy!)
H.R.3511 : To designate the facility of the United States Postal Service located at 2150 East Hardtner Drive in Urania, Louisiana, a the "Murphy A. Tannehill Post Office Building".
H.RES.923 : Recognizing the State of Minnesota's 150th anniversary.
H.R.5368 : To suspend the duty on Aluminum (0.010" and thicker). (for which, a huge campaign contributor says "Yipeeeee!)
H.RES.1128 : Expressing support of the goals and ideals of National Carriage Driving Month.
H.RES.1247 : Supporting the goals and ideals of "American Eagle Day", and celebrating the recovery and restoration of the American bald eagle, the national symbol of the United States.
H.R.4950 : To extend the duty suspension on Phenyl salicylate, benzoic acid, 2-hydroxy-, phenyl ester. (another contributor that got their money's worth)
Its funny, I always thought that Ron lived in the State of Michigan. It appears he really lives in the State of Denial.

You got that right!

Kenny, while both sides waste taxpayer's money on such trivial, your Democrat savior of the world has done little worthwhile in the Senate, other then wanting to surrender and raise taxes. The near 50% "Purpose will be available when the amendment is proposed for consideration. See Congressional Record for text." are where the earmarks that have nothing to do with a proposed bill, are added for the special interest project.
It is suppose to take 51 votes to pass a bill in the Senate. Now, it takes 61 votes before a bill can be voted on due to a filibusters rule created by Democrats when history started before yesterday.

I'd like to have heard some reactions from that. I mean, in the room...not in here.
Then, I might be able to piece together which ideology is better than the other.

I know!
I mean, God forbid we actually have a "tax and spend" system that leans towards a pay-as-you-go principle, when we can have a "no tax and spend" system that accumulates debt and passes it off to other generations.

Seriously, Kenny, the Democrats a) don't have a "pay as you go" principle, they have a "tax and spend" principle, and b) don't understand that raising taxes can reduce revenues, and c) see taxation as a way to "right the wrongs" of society, also known as "Robin Hood" economics.

Absolutely. But its still more fiscally sound and balanced than a tax-cut and spend principle.
Who would have ever thought that they would live to see the day when a right wing think tank would call BJ Clintion a fiscal genius and Dubya a fiscal turd?

see taxation as a way to "right the wrongs" of society, also known as "Robin Hood" economics.
You know, I can respect anyone who, like you, objects to the "robin hood" theme in our tax system. Regardless of whether I agree, I do respect their stand on a legitimate, sound position. But its not the nature of the politician to not spend money (regardless of party affiliation), and absent the Robin Hood approach, all that remains is behavior that amounts to stealing from kids and grandkids to pay for one's lifestyle today. That position is neither legitimate nor sound. I have a tough time respecting anyone like that. "Weasel" is how a person who behaves that way in everyday life would be described. The Robin Hood thing may not be fair, and I can understand the objections, but its not as weasel-ish as the other alternative. Not by a longshot.
If anyone is going to bitch, piss and moan about Robin Hood, at least have a better system than stealing from your kids to put on display as the preferred alternative. Sure, people can talk all day about spending cuts to go along with tax cuts, but its getting more and more hypothetical by the day because the actions never back up the words. Thats something the dittoheads never grasp.

That article is 4 years old.
C'mon, Kenny, you're a finance guy, stop spinning the numbers and spitting out nonsense! And you know exactly what I mean. You can't compare spending without taking into account inflation, GDP, tax rates, and the economic conditions, and you know that.
The ONLY number that counts when it comes to Government spending, deficits, and the National Debt is the percentage of the GDP. And you know that, too. Figures lie and liars figure, and liberals are much better at both than anyone else.
So, as a percentage of GDP, what do the numbers show?
http://www.cbo.gov/docimages/35xx/doc3521/352101.gif
Gosh, look at that, Entitlement Spending is blowing up the budget! And you're going to try to take 75 years of Democrat legislation from Social Security, Medicaid, the "Great Society" welfare programs, and blame the entire thing on one drug benefit by President Bush? Wow, that's about as silly as it gets.
But what about the future that seems to concern you so much?
http://www.cbo.gov/doc.cfm?index=3521&type=0 See Table 2
Yep, that's right, Social Security and Medicare, the two entitlement programs created by Democrats, perpetuated by Democrats, protected by Democrats, and Bush's plan to fix both of them was vehemently fought by Democrats. Compared to those two Democrat programs, the prescription drug program was a tiny drop in the barrel! It's like blaming the Mississippi River floods in Iowa on somebody's hose left on while ignoring the rainstorms!
Weak, Kenny, weak.
:)
Have a nice day!

Here in Michigan, our Wonderful Governor decided last year that she could fix everything by raising the income tax and slapping a 22% surcharge tax on businesses. That was projected to raise an additional 1.2 billion for the state budget.
Guess what happened?
Instead of attracting more businesses to Michigan, the surtax drove them away. Others simply relocated to other states or outsourced their work to Mexico and China.
Locally, Saginaw County saw 1,000 small businesses go out of business with many larger ones cutting back - Delphi just cut another 1500 jobs this week.
Results, unemployment in the state has shot up to 8.6%, actual number of all workers that are drawing their six months of benefits. When the benefits are exhausted, they are no longer considered unemployed.
Between the loss of income from people not working and the loss of income from the closed down and outsourced businesses, Michigan is now short $600,000,000.
Democrats keep proving again and again that you cannot tax yourself back to prosperity.
The only businesses prospering in this state are demolition, repossession, scrap metal recycling, and one way rentals of moving vans.
