The last major remnant of Saddam Hussein's nuclear program - a huge stockpile of concentrated natural uranium - reached a Canadian port Saturday to complete a secret U.S. operation that included a two-week airlift from Baghdad and a ship voyage crossing two oceans.
The removal of 550 metric tons of "yellowcake" - the seed material for higher-grade nuclear enrichment - was a significant step toward closing the books on Saddam's nuclear legacy.

Non issue, Not a story of any importance, No need to report this, Time to move on.

Naw, we should have a half a dozen threads on this article, or more! That way the 911 Toofers and the WMD deniers can have a field day trying to answer all of the posts on the subject!

It does make you wonder why the existence of this stuff doesn't breed the same conspiracies like 9-11 does.

Sold by the Iraqi Government, shipped through a British island, to Canada, with training in decontamination by the Russians, sure looks like Bush rounded everybody up to help out! And in related news, the UAE has cancelled Iraq's debts and announced an ambassador, the Iraqi military is wrapping up the last of the al Qaeda connected insurgency, and it looks as if Bush was right all along.

Wow, that's a huge pill to swallow for the BDS sufferers!

Yellowcake is WMD?

why would there be? Milled uranium is an inate object. 9/11 was mass murder.

Raw Uranium ore and a viable atomic weapon are as far apart as us and the edge of the Universe. You in the US should be aware of the resources it took for the Manhattan project.I really do not think Iraq had anything remotely approaching that.I know that Iran is moving that way but that is a different story and I really do not think they will be allowed to get to their destination without massive intervention.

Actually, we are well aware of the resources it took for the Manhattan project. An atomic weapon is 60 year old technology! And since France was helping, and they have a lot of nuclear reactors and a nuclear aircraft carrier that can't get out of drydock, it becomes a very dangerous game to play with a dictator that supports terrorism. The Germans in 1945 weren't that far from a nuclear weapon either, and Pakistan and India, not known for being huge brain-trusts, both have nukes. I'm pretty sure that the UK probably has nukes, Ireland would, but they invented Guinness instead, and haven't invented anything since...

Sorry, better to be safe than sorry, I know, that's not a very liberal concept, but it's a good one.

The most idiotic part of the "Dem's" arguments that I've read on the 'net is that Saddam purchased 550 Metric Tons of Yellowcake, just to store it in drums until it decomposed! Nope, no "ongoing" nuclear program here! Just storing it for a retirement investment! In five years, if Saddam was still in power, where would his nuclear program be right now? What would have happened with this stuff without the invasion? I guess Saddam would have just eventually sold it to Canada himself, after all, he had no program and no use for it! And why was he trying to buy more? Oh, yeah, that 401K account he had at Baghdad Fidelity! I wonder, do Liberals actually know how stupid they sound?

Wow, your title-casing them demonstrates just how bent you must've become...even your (damned) chivalry's synthesised...

Liberals, Liberalism, Liberalisme?

Is this a George Soros plant on his blog monitoring payroll?

Why do I post in Times New Roman? To remind Liberals about the faked Bush National Guard documents created with Microsoft Word.
